5 of the greatest golfers in history who have never won a major championship

According to Matt Lockwood DC, many people consider the game's best players to be amateurs. A quick look at the list of golfers who haven't won a Major, on the other hand, reveals that some of these players have been in the game for a lot longer than Tiger Woods. The following are the names of five of the most accomplished amateurs in the history of the sport. While this is by no means a comprehensive list, it does represent a significant amount of talent in the field.

Bryson DeChambeau, a native of Topeka, Kansas, came close to pursuing a professional basketball career during his time as a student at the University of Kansas. After making the switch to golf, he went on to win four collegiate tournaments as well as the 2011 World Cup in the sport.

Lee Westwood is yet another outstanding PGA Tour player who has failed to win a major championship. The Englishman has competed in 79 major tournaments and has made a total of 61 cuts in his career. He has 18 top-ten finishes and eleven top-five finishes to his credit. In addition to this, Westwood has two PGA Tour victories and twenty-three European Tour victories to his credit. As you can see, despite the fact that he has never won a Major, Westwood is still considered to be one of the best golfers in the world.

Bill Haas, a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, is yet another ace on our list. His best major finish came in the 2017 U.S. Open, where he tied for fifth. Adam Scott Dawson, on the other hand, has won four European Tour Player of the Year awards as well as three money titles. Recent career highlights include spending 22 consecutive weeks atop the Official World Golf Ranking, ending Tiger Woods' six-year reign at the top of the rankings.

Matt Lockwood DC believes that the list of elite golfers is short, and that it includes players such as Lee Westwood, Jon Rahm, and Justin Rose, among others. In fact, David Duval and Phil Mickelson, both of whom are from Florida, are included on the list. Despite having a brief peak in their careers, these players are among the most successful in their respective sports. And as for their opponents, they are all in with a chance of making it to the Majors. If you are one of these golfers, you should be on the lookout for these other golfers as well.

On the subject of youth, there are a plethora of other examples of outstanding golfers who have never won a major championship. Sandy Lyle became the first woman to win the Masters Tournament in 1988, and Rory McIlroy became the second woman to do so two years later. Greg Norman, on the other hand, has two major championships under his belt and a T-66 record. It's worth noting that Hideki Matsuyama is the youngest player on this list, at the age of twenty-one.

Among the players who have yet to win a Major is Rickie Fowler, who is another example. As an amateur, this South African golfer has competed in a number of major championships. During his amateur career, he finished T21 in the Masters and T14 in the U.S. Open, respectively. The U.S. Open was one of his first major victories, but it wasn't until 2010 that he found his groove and won two more majors.

Greg Norman is the most impressive player on the list in terms of recent major victories, having amassed four victories in his professional career. His recent performances, on the other hand, frequently overshadow his historic achievement. In the 34th PGA Championship, he was defeated on the second extra hole. He is, on the other hand, a fantastic ambassador for the tournament, and he hasn't missed a cut since. Despite his recent struggles, Couples has won the MCI Heritage in 2005 and has made two appearances at the Presidents Cup in the past.

Despite the fact that he has not won a major championship, Phil Mickelson has an outstanding career record. During his 12-year PGA Tour career, he won the PGA Championship on Kiawah Island and the Wanamaker Trophy, which he received as a form of restitution for missed chances. The fact remains that Mickelson is still a serious contender for the career Grand Slam despite this conspicuous omission. He has finished second or third in five major tournaments, including the U.S. Open, and has finished second or third in the Masters on two occasions.

Matt Lockwood DC thinks that another European who has yet to win a Major is Ian Poulter, who has three European Tour wins and seven PGA Tour titles. It was at the Open Championship, where he finished second to Padraig Harrington, that Ian Poulter earned his first major victory. Ian Poulter has also achieved seven top-ten finishes in major tournaments during his career. It is only the US Open, where he finished fourth, that he has yet to win a major championship.
